SOLD Chinese Yixing stoneware teapot, mid-19th century. The large teapot enameled to either side, with panels of flowering plants, between turquoise panels painted with bamboo shoots. Having a squared ‘S’ shaped spout, enameled in blue, as are the twin lug handles, which are pierced and accommodate a European mounted elaborate metal scroll shaped handle. Set upon four bracket feet. The blue enameled cover, mounted with a metal flower shaped finial. Impressed square seal mark to the base. Measures: Height 25.5 cm, 10”. Width 19 cm, 7 1/2”.
