HIGH POTENCY COARSE is a year-round formula for medium to large parrots, especially cockatoos, large conures, African greys, eclectus, macaws and pionus. After the initial 6-month conversion period, it is recommended that a qualified avian veterinarian assess your bird’s dietary needs. Other species may be switched to an Adult Lifetime Formula after a 6-month conversion period as long as they are not molting, breeding or recovering from an illness. USES: Conversion: All birds should start and remain on High Potency Formula for a period of at least 6 months. Special Needs: For birds that are molting, overweight, underweight, particularly active, housed in a cold climate, recovering from an illness or affected by liver or kidney disease. Breeding Birds: Feed High Potency Formula to all breeding birds. Weaning Birds: Feed High Potency Formula for at least 6-9 months after weaning. Coarse Pellet Statement The coarser particle size is intentional and designed to support proper ventriculus (gizzard) function by encouraging natural chewing and grinding.
